Summers and tan go hand in hand. Even after applying copious amounts of sunscreen, I always somehow manage to get a little tan. Which looks really bad while wearing cut sleeves tops or open toe sandles and flip flops. Also at times when I’m out it’s not possible for me to reapply sunscreen which doesn’t help with the tanning.
Since it’s going to be wedding season soon, I was looking for a product that will help me get rid of the tan. I got this D-Tan scrub from GreenBerry Organics at just that time and I was super excited to try this. If you have read my earlier posts you will know that I love their products.
Their products have worked really well for me and my friends and family. Yes, I made them try it too, because when you discover something amazing you have to share it right?

Packaging: It comes in the simple and effective packaging which is reusable. Simple, sturdy and effective, three things that I associate with this brand.
Smell: It smells a bit cinnamony to me 😛 which is weird because it does not have cinnamon in it. It doesn’t smell bad at all, nor does the smell lingers which is a really good thing.
Shelf life: 24 months from the date of manufacturing and 12 months from the date you open it.

My experience: I used it thrice a week on hands and feet and twice a week on my face.
It has walnut shell powder which acts as the scrubbing agent. But they are very fine don’t feel harsh on the skin at all.
Now the instructions says that you have to apply it on your damp skin and massage it for 15-20 mins. I found that a bit weird. I’m supposed to massage a scrub for that long? I’m too lazy to do that also I don’t think scrubbing for that long will be good for our skin.
So I improvised on the instructions and massaged it for 5 mins and then let it sit like a pack for the next 10-15 mins.
After I washed it, my skin felt so much more clearer and brighter. The presence of oils in it ensured that my skin doesn’t feel dry after washing it off. I love scrubs that don’t dry out my skin.
But the main question- Did it help with tanning? The answer is YES, it did. It brightened my skin instantly and made it soft and smooth.
The effects depend on how deep the tan is and how long has it been. If you had mild tan like I did, a few uses will lighten it up considerably, but if it’s a deep tan, it might take a few weeks. Although prevention is better than cure. So I will suggest rather than trying to remove it, make sure you don’t get it in the first place. But if like me you are unable to avoid it, then you know what to buy to get rid of it.

Overall: Overall as always Greenberry organics didn’t disappoint me. The product did what it claimed and I can say that for a fact because I made my bother try it as well after a lot of coercing on my part. He is someone who forgets sunscreen more often than not and so his tan was deeper than mine.
After he used it once my mother who didn’t know he had used anything said. His skin was brighter today. So I can safely say it brightens your skin.
I’m planning on making him try it out for a bit longer to see how long it takes for the tan to completely fade away.
