Perfumes are the only thing of beauty that can’t be seen with the eyes yet the ones that linger in the memories for years. A fragrance has the power to transport you to the time forgotten with just one whiff. Like the smell of wet earth will remind you of rainy days, the scent of your mothers cooking will leave you nostalgic.

Le Jardin Retrouvé is a timeless, independent, family-owned Haute Parfumerie House created in 1975 by acclaimed perfumer Yuri Gutsatz, founding father of Perfumer Perfumery. He rejected the constraints of the marketing-driven perfume industry; he was in pursuit of creative freedom and the finest possible ingredients. 41 years later, in 2016, his son and his family boldly reinvented Le Jardin Retrouvé, while keeping Yuri’s delicate formulas, as well as his historical suppliers. Le Jardin Retrouvé is a way of experiencing perfume, both inspired by nature and comforting.

Packaging: The samples come in small individual cardboard packs with the details about the perfume with a little story about the fragrance is mentioned. The boxes are covered with beautiful paintings each one unique and mesmerizing. The perfumes come in cute and compact glass spray bottles which are eco-friendly as well as easy to carry. All the seven packets come in a cloth bag. The whole packaging is very eco-friendly and alluring and will make for a great gift.

My Experience: I love collecting fragrances, it’s like taking a journey with every sniff. Scents hold so many memories and can easily take you down the memory lane with a single sniff. I read in an article years ago that every woman should have her signature scent and since then I have been trying to find mine. Along the journey, I have discovered a lot about my preferences. This Discovery set is a great way to start on your journey to find that one scent that defines you. It comes in small glass vials and lets you try seven unique fragrances at once. Each fragrance is one of its kind and I’m sure you’ll end up liking at least a few if not all of them, you might even discover your signature scent.

I have always wanted to try French perfumes, something about them just enticed me and I’m glad I got to try this set. It has seven unique fragrances ranging from mild to strong and from floral to woody and spicy. There is something for everyone here. Each fragrance lasts for a different amount of time on me ranging from 4-10 hours. My favourite among them is the Rose Trocadéro, Sandalwood Sacré and Tubéreuse Trianon.

Lets you try many samples at once before you invest in the full size
You also get a coupon of the same amount as the sample set value which you can later use to purchase any product from the store apart from the sample set

Cons:

It’s a little costly

Overall: 5/5 I think it’s always a great idea to try a sample before you invest in the full size so you know if it works for you or not and fragrances are no different. Everyone has a unique taste and this set has something that will appeal to the whole family. While I find some scents too strong for my liking, my father loves them, the spicy ones are a favourite of my brother and floral ones caught the attention of my sister as well. Plus the bright little packs it comes in makes for a great gift.

Will I repurchase: I probably will go for the Sandalwood Sacré as this fragrance is a warm, woody scent that lasts around 6-8 hours on me and has a very beautiful lingering scent.

Do I recommend: Yes, they are worth a try plus you are not losing anything since you receive a gift code of the value of your total sample order to use on your next purchase (except samples).

Strand-aid Hair Mist to help with your hair woes

In winters it’s hard to wash hair every day since its so cold, or you don’t have the time or you just feel lazy to do so you skip. As summers approach and the heat hit us, the problem of sticky sweaty hair is a real challenge especially when it’s hard to wash hair due to the hectic lifestyle not to mention its not practical or helpful for the hair as well. But not taking care of the hair can lead to a lot of hair issues like hair fall, dandruff, itchy scalp, smelling and lifeless hair. Dry shampoo is an alternative that can help but even it comes with its price. Its usually filled with chemicals and is not good for the environment as well. I found an alternative to dry shampoo’s that is effective, natural and works well without harming your hair. A multitasking hair mist that works wonders and does the job of a hair perfume as well.

Fragrance: It has a very soothing fragrance. The fragrance actually lasts for a while and is very soothing. It isn’t overpowering but a soft fragrance that catches attention.

Ingredients: The blend of Rosemary (circulatory stimulant), Cypress (astringent), Tea Tree (antiseptic), Lavender (regenerative), Clary Sage (hormone balancing) & Cedarwood (controls hair fall & dandruff) essential oils make it a multi-tasking mist that works as a dry shampoo & a powerful hair & scalp tonic. My Experience: I was intrigued by this product as soon as I saw it. The ingredients list is amazing and since its an all natural product I couldn’t wait to try it. I have been using it for the past two months and its almost over now. the first thing I liked about this was its packaging, the cardboard box had the same painting as the label. It’s a watercolour painting and I think it adds a beautiful touch to the product. The hair mist bottle came with a separate spray cap which assured that it didn’t leak. I used this mist twice a day daily for a few weeks and I can safely say that my hair loved it. It got rid of my itchy scalp within a few days and helped control dandruff a lot as well. The fragrance of this mist has my heart and the best part is that it stays for a good amount of time.

I had a lot of weddings to attend this wedding season and didn’t always have the time to wash my hair beforehand. So I used this quite a few times before going out and I was surprised by the results. I wasn’t expecting soft smooth shiny great smelling hair from this but that is what I got. My hair had never felt better or looked that good without going to great lengths to achieve it. I used it just before styling and it gave the appearance of just washed hair without the dryness and frizziness. It was easier to style as well and didn’t get greasy the next day which is what always happens with my hair if I use any styling products. Just a few spritzes and it worked as well as any dry shampoo without the cons. I have to stay that I’m greatly impressed by this product as it went well above my expectations.

The spray bottle can be reused later as well and it’s gorgeous, to begin with so hard to throw out
Works well as a dry shampoo
Helps in getting rid of dandruff
Helps with scalp itchiness
It’s affordable and easily available

Overall: 5/5. It’s the best alternative to dry shampoo that I have seen so far. It’s free from chemicals and works great as a hair mist. It’s a multipurpose product which isn’t heavy on the pocket as well.

Will I repurchase: Yes! I’d absolutely purchase another bottle considering I almost finished mine.

Do I recommend: YES! This is worth a try, you can use it as a hair perfume and get compliments (trust me you will, cause I got many J) use it as a dry shampoo when you are running late or are just plain lazy.

Note: you will still need to wash your hair, it isn’t an alternative to shampoo.

Review: Urvinaturals Sandalwood Perfume Oil

Sandalwood has been used since ancient times in rituals and meditations. One of the primary sandalwood benefits is that it promotes mental clarity when used as incense or fragrance. This is why it is frequently used for meditation, prayer, or other spiritual rituals. Sandalwood is native to India and is called Chandan in Hindi. It’s lasting fragrance only improves with age. The use of sandalwood dates back to more than 4000 years where it was mainly sought after for its exotic scent. It provides a grounding and uplifting feeling due to its stable aroma base.
Therapeutic properties of Sandalwood: Antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, astringent, sedative, insecticide, urinary and lung antiseptic; relieves lung congestion and nausea.
Sandalwood has been one of my favorite fragrances but it’s hard to find a decent perfume with this fragrance. I’m so glad I came across Urvinaturals Sandalwood Perfume oil. It has become my go-to fragrance.

Packaging: It comes in an outer cardboard box. Inside which the perfume oil is safely nested. The perfume itself comes in a small glass roll-on bottle. The roll on comes separately. The bottle comes with a safety lid to keep the perfume from spilling. The roll on imparts the perfect amount of oil each time. It’s not only eco-friendly but easy to carry and use as well.

Smell: It has a soft, warm, woody, and balsamic fragrance. It’s enchanting and calming. This fragrance instantly lifts you up. It’s not overpowering but really subtle and mesmerizing. The fragrance lasts up to 4-6 hours on me.

My experience: I have been using this fragrance since the day I received it. It’s become my favorite and my go-to fragrance. I think it’s going to be my signature scent. It’s such a soft, warm and soothing fragrance that I find it hard not to reach for it every day. It’s aroma instantly calms me and lifts my mood up. It even helped in reducing my headaches at times when applied to temples. It’s so easy to use and carry. Just apply a little perfume oil on your pulse points like inside the wrists, inside your elbows, behind your ears, etc. This oil gets absorbed within minutes and doesn’t leave any oiliness or stain behind. I find myself reaching for this fragrance on days when I’m stressed and it instantly soothes me. The fragrance transports you to a time long forgotten, in some ancient temple which is filled with calmness. I know it sounds like I’m exaggerating but I’m honestly not. I can’t describe how beautiful this scent is. Whenever I have it on my friend keeps close to me and asks what I’m wearing as it’s so beautiful. I have received so many compliments on this fragrance. It’s perfect to wear to office, colleges, and parties as well. This isn’t an overwhelming fragrance hence it’s easy to wear on any occasion. Perfumes last differently on different people due to the body temperature, they smell different too. While this lasts 4-6 hours on me, it can last longer on you. Most fragrances don’t last longer than that on me. If you haven’t given perfume oils a try, I’ll suggest you do so. They are usually more concentrated than other perfumes and their fragrances are more pure and lasting.

Overall: 10/5 because it deserves it. It’s the most beautiful fragrance that I have ever owned and I love it to bits.
Will I repurchase: Yess!!
Do I recommend: I recommend it strongly. Sandalwood is a fragrance that you should try at least once. Since this contains Essential oil, it’s highly recommended to do a patch test before using it. If you love warm fragrances, or woody scents do give this a try. I’m usually a person who loves floral aromas but sandalwood has topped the list of my favorite fragrances.
