Hi, it’s been so long since I last wrote a post. I have been equal amounts of busy and lazy hence the huge gap however I’m hoping to change that and write more often from now on. I have lots of catching up to do, so let’s get started. My first post of this year will be on one very raved Korean cream, which is famous not only for its properties but it’s calming blue color as well. If you haven’t guessed already, I’m talking about Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream.

Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream rapidly calms sensitive, irritated skin leaving the face comfortably moisturized while also helping to strengthen external barriers. Its signature ingredient, Guaiazulene, a herbal extract of chamomile, soothes and cools down inflamed skin. It is also effective in skin cell regeneration. At the same time, Centella Asiatica extract, derived from a Madagascar-native plant known as ‘tiger grass’, helps damaged skin regenerate and prevents scarring. Packaging: It comes in a beautiful glass tub with a spatula. The bottle is sturdy and classy. The 60ml variant comes in a tube packaging which I think is more travel-friendly.

My Experience: I received Klairs Midnight Blue calming cream at a time when my skin was behaving very well for me. This is one of the most hyped-up products from Klairs and I was very excited to use it. All I had read or heard were great reviews about it and I wanted to see how well it’ll work for me. I used it as the last step in my night routine for a few days before I realized that this was a very small tub and would not last me long at all if I keep using it. Since it didn’t show any difference in my skin in the first few days, I put it aside and promptly forgot about it. A few weeks later when my skin was suffering from acne and redness combined with tiny red bumps is when I decided to give this cream another try.

At first, I used it as a spot treatment but didn’t see any visible results so I started using it as the last step in my routines again. Though using it as a sleeping mask ensured that I was going to run out of this cream sooner than expected, it did work better than using it as a spot treatment for me. In the morning it acted as a nice and light moisturizer for my oily skin. It has an almost matte finish and didn’t make the skin oily even after hours. I’m sure people with dry skin would find it lacking as a moisturizer but for my skin, it works, though it is not advertised as such. It’s a lightweight, quick-absorbing, non-sticky, non-greasy cream that soothes the skin.

I saw that my acne was less inflamed, the tiny red bumps less visible, my skin didn’t feel as painful. It took some time to work on me, but in the end, it did help me calm my skin down. In a few days, my skin was calmer and healthier than before. The redness was almost gone, the bumps reduced in size and some vanished completely.

Even though it did calm my skin, I fell that there are other products that calm and soothe my skin faster than Klairs Midnight Blue calming Cream does and are cost-effective as well. People who frequently get sunburned or inflamed skin, I think will benefit more from this. People with sensitive skin will enjoy it as well.

Pros:

The ingredient list has some great calming ingredients
It’s a very beautiful shade of blue, that in itself is so calming
Is soothing and calming
It’s lightweight
Fast absorbing
Non-sticky, Non-greasy
Works as a great moisturizer for oily skin
Is vegan
Cruelty-Free

Cons:

It’s costly
The quantity isn’t that much compared to its price so I don’t think it’s cost-effective

Will I Repurchase: Probably not. This cream while being good isn’t something that I’ll repurchase it again. I can’t justify the cost with the results.

Do I Recommend: People with sensitive skin, or someone who suffers from frequent sunburns, itchiness, inflamed skin, acne, etc this might be worth the investment. Otherwise you can skip on this one as it leans on the costlier side.

Overall summary: 3/5 Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream a nice soothing cream, the beautiful blue color of this fills me with calmness whenever I use it. It has amazing skin-calming ingredients and will work really well for sensitive skin. It heals and soothes irritated, inflamed skin, works on calming acne and redness as well. However, it is a bit on the costly side so fewer points for that.

Beauty Origins Mulberry Skin Brightening Cream

Price & Quantity: It costs INR 325 for a 60gms tub.

Ingredients: Jojoba oil, almond oil, aloe vera, mulberry extract, liquorice extract

Claims: This incredible formula enriched with mulberry and liquorice extract, both rich in antioxidants and skin brightening properties. It helps reduce tan evens out skin tone, making it a perfect partner in your daily beauty regime.

Availability: It’s easily available on Amazon

Packaging: It comes in the signature white tub with a blue lid and an extra lid for safety.

Smell: It has a floral fruity fragrance which is strong if you sniff it directly but otherwise doesn’t bother much. It doesn’t stay on the skin for long as well.

My Experience: I don’t usually go for Brightening creams but summers mean tan and that calls for drastic measures. This cream has a slightly thick texture and a very light fragrance. It absorbs easily but makes my face oily. So I started using it at night as a night cream and it worked. After a few days, I did see my skin getting even toned. It didn’t break me out or make my face excessively greasy. Though it did leave an oily sheen I can work with that at night. It’s highly Moisturizing and makes the skin soft and bright.

I’m not saying it’ll make your skin lighter since that’s not possible but it does help with making your skin brighter and even toned. Though I think it’s not for oily skinned beauties. However, people with dry skin might appreciate this a lot.

Affordable
Works on removing tan
Brightens skin tone
Makes the skin even toned

Cons:

Makes my skin oily

Will I Repurchase: I won’t be repurchasing this one as it doesn’t work for my skin type.

Do I Recommend: It’s a good cream that will skin dry skin beauties very well.

Overall summary: It’s a good cream just not for my skin type.

Leegeeham Hope 5a Control Cream

Summers bring with the bane of my existence oily and dull skin. Oily skin beauties know that finding products which work for our skin is not an easy job. For a long time I use to believe that since my skin is oily I don’t need moisturizer which trust me was a big mistake, because it made my skin dry which in turn led to more oil production to combat the dryness. Lesson learned after a lot of trial and error and greasy face.
When I heard about this cream from the famous Korean brand Leegeeham I wanted to try it because it sounded like everything my skin has been looking for and somehow I was lucky enough to be selected as a reviewer for this cream.

Packaging:
The product came in a classy white tub packaging. It is travel friendly as an extra lid helps prevent spiling.

Smell: It has a very faint and pleasant smell.
My experience: I used this cream for a month and loved it at the end. It’s a light weight gel like cream which absorbs easily. You just need a few drops of it to cover your entire face. It’s moisturizing and controls sebum production very well. I like how soft and moisturized my skin felt after this cream. Although in the beginning I was a bit disappointed as I’m more used to sebum controlling creams that provide a glow as well. This cream didn’t do that not that it claimed it will. It isn’t a Mattifying cream which will give you a white cast or coverage. It’s a moisturizing Cream that will control the oil production and work as a makeup base as well. It mositurises the skin without making it greasy so perfect for oily skin beauties especially in Indian summers.
Since only a small quantity is required this tub will last you for a very long time. Although since it’s gel like and runny in texture you have to be careful while using it as it can spill easily as happened with me. Although the extra lid prevents spilling while traveling so it’s travel safe you just need to be careful when the lid is off so you don’t waste it.

Pros:

Traveling safe
Gel like texture absorbs easily
Only a few drops are required everytime to cover the entire face
Works well as a makeup base
Controls sebum production to a great extent
Moistures the skin without making it greasy

Cons:

Costly
Not easily available in India

Overall : Its a great mositurising cream and works amazingly well for oily skin in controlling sebum.
Do I recommend: Yess!!

Introduction: I was lucky enough to be selected as a tester for Jolse.com again. I was honestly suprised because I wasn’t expecting it. But I’m really glad I got the chance.

Product name: [Jolse] SKIN&LAB Barrierderm Intensive Cream 50ml
Price: $20 but it’s currently on discount on Jolse and you can get it for $16. Jolse also offers free international shipping which is just amazing and the reason I shop from them often.
Quantity: 50ml

Claims: Barrierderm Intensive cream is the high moisturizing cream that helps tired skin take a rest. Essential protein for keeping skin layer, fila-seed, prevents moisture not to get out of the skin as protecting dry skin. This cream is smoothly absorbed into your skin as leaving perfect moist and fresh finish. Only thing you have to do is enjoy this cream and feel moisture.

Packaging: It has a simple tube packaging which is very travel friendly. I like how easy it is to use and get the appropriate amount of cream. Plus what was surprised me more was that all the information on it was written in English unlike other Korean brands which I have a hard time understanding. This made me appreciate the brand so much more. Plus it had a few lines printed on it which I really liked. It says- Every life cannot be equal, so your skin too. Enjoy your skin as it is. Do not compare with others. We will be there with the answer only for you. Aren’t these lines sweet!

Smell: It has my favourite scent in the world. It smells like Lavender and is absolutely amazing. The scent is very faint and soothing. I love how wonderful it is and at times apply it just so that I can sit and smell that wonderfulness.

My experience: As soon as I opened the protective silver layer on the tube and sniffed it I was hooked. It smelled so amazing that I could not wait to try it. I thought it will be a very thick cream like Boroplus or Ponds cold cream since it was for intense moisturizing. However that’s not the case with this cream thankfully. It’s very lightweight in texture and a bit jelly like. It has some white beads in it too which are really soft and absorb easily as you can see in the pictures.

This cream forms a protective layer on the skin and helps it heal and keeps it protected. I used this cream on and off for a few days at night. The best thing was it didn’t break me out. Unlike other creams it didnt feel heavy on the skin at all. It felt so amazing when ever I applied it. I used it as the last step in my routine and I was amazed by the results. The cream not only smelt amazing and helped me relax instantly, it hydrated my skin so well and formed a protective barrier on it which helped prevent the odd breakouts that I sometimes get. Every day I woke up with really soft and moisturised skin which even looked a bit clear and glowing. My skin want sticky or had a layer of this cream. Everything was absorbed in the skin and I’m pretty sure it will work even better in winters.

Didn’t break me out

Overall : 4/5. One point deducted because it’s costly apart form that it’s a wonderful cream and definitely worth a try.

I was recently selected to be a tester on Jolse.com for the Hope Girl Honey Bee Venom Multi solution Cream. I usually not a big fan of honey products as I don’t like the smell of honey. So when I was selected to be a tester for this cream I was a bit skeptical as to how it was going to be. I have oily/combination skin and I wondered if this cream will actually suit my skin or not.

Availability: You can buy it from Jolse.com . A Korean skincare and beauty products site which I really love shopping from as they don’t charge shipping have amazing deals and always give nice samples but more on Korean skincare shopping later.
Packaging: It comes in a hexagonal shaped box which resembles a honey comb something which I found really attractive. I liked the bright yellow packaging as well. It’s just so pretty to look at. The cream comes in a plastic tub which has an extra lid for protection. It’s a sturdy travel friendly packaging.

Smell: Now this was something I was really worried about since I don’t like how honey smells. But to my surprise it doesn’t smell like honey. It has a very sweet smell but it’s nothing like honey it’s a bit more fruity smell. It smells amazing in short. It doesn’t last and isn’t strong but it’s noticable when you apply it and I find it really nice. To be honest I was really delighted that it didn’t smell like honey. That was the first thing that made me like this cream.

My experience: I’m from India and if you have been here or you live here you will know how hot, sweaty and sticky the summers here get especially in Rajasthan which is the desert state of India. Another reason to be skeptical of honey products right because honey is so sticky. Imagine my surprise when this cream turned to be nothing like I imagined. I was worried that it will make my skin sticky, will smell bad and generally just won’t work for me but none of those things happened and I’m glad that I was proven wrong. This cream is more jelly like in Texture. It’s very soft and smooth and absorbs like a dream and the best thing it’s not sticky especially on my oily face in Indian summers. Just that proves how amazing this cream is. It’s lightweight and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin at all.
I applied it twice a day in my morning and evening skincare routine for two weeks and it didn’t break me out, it didn’t make my face oily or sticky, it absorbed easily and I didn’t have to pat it in, it mositurised my skin without making it greasy and gave an overall fresh look. I wasn’t expecting anything from this cream so I was really surprised that I ended up liking it so much. I have gifted it to my mom now because she needed a mosituriser and I knew she will love this as much as I did and I wasn’t wrong.

Pros:

Only a small quantity is required as it spreads easily so this tub will easily last for months even if used twice daily.
It’s non sticky
It is really light weight in texture
It smells amazing
It absorbs easily
It didn’t break me out
My mother loves it ( it’s a pro because she is usually very critical of creams so to get her seal of approval on this means something)
Works well in Indian Summers

Cons: Frankly I can’t think of any. I’m really satisfied with this cream as it went beyond my expectations and worked so well for my skin.
Overall : 4/5
Will I repurchase: I will as my mother loves it.
Do I recommend: Yes, it’s a good cream and worth a try if you like trying new products like I do or are a fan of products with honey in it.

My experience:

Green Clay Mud Face Wash- A mild exfoliating Facewash which instantly cleans and brightens your skin. It’s not harsh on the skin and doesn’t dry it out. It didn’t break me out at all. Only a pea size amount is required to clean the whole face. It’s not a foaming facewash so it doesn’t foam much but it makes the skin really clean. In just a few days I noticed my skin getting better. I loved it when I first used it because unlike other Facewashes it didn’t make my skin dry and stretchy. Since it is a green clay and mud facewash it controls on the oil on my face as well. I love how clean and soft my skin feels after using it.
Fresh cucumber Mint toner – A minty toner which instantly refreshes my skin. It’s easy to spray and use. I love it’s fragrance as it’s really soothing. Its non sticky and absorbs within seconds in the skin, leaving behind a soft glow. This toner works as a makeup cleaner as well and just a little amount is required to clean the face. It not only makes my skin look fresh it also keeps the excessive oil in check. Thus giving me a oil free look for a long duration. It’s really mild and made from all natural ingredients so I don’t have to worry about putting harmful chemicals on my skin. It minimises to pores to an extent. The best thing about it is, at any time of the day if you are feeling tired using it will instantly refreshe you. The only con is if you spray a little more than required it might foam a little.
Bio Active Intense Night cream- This is one of the most amazing night creams I have ever come across. Most night creams are really heavy and make my skin look greasy but not this one. Even though the hydration it provides is intense, it’s really non greasy. Only a tiny bit is required to be used daily. It takes a few seconds to absorb but gives an instant glow. It doesn’t leave behind a white cast unlike some other creams. I really like the fact that I can use this cream at night and my face won’t turn greasy in the morning. Everyday I wake up with soft glowing skin. I love how beautiful my skin feels, every morning. Within a few days I have noticed that my skin feels more soft and hydrated. Even on days that I sleep late I don’t wake up with tired skin anymore. My skin looks fresh everyday with this cream.

Overall : 10/5. I know math but these products are that amazing. Effective and efficient these products live up to their claims and gave results from the first use itself.
Will I repurchase: Hell Yes!!! These are going to be a staple in my routine. I can’t imagine not using them anymore.
Do I recommend: Most definitely! Please don’t miss out on these amazing products. This 100% vegetarian and vegan brand has some amazing products and you will definitely find one or a few of them for your need. All natural and free from harmful chemicals these products work wonders on the skin. I honestly have tried a lot of products but have never loved any products as much as I did these, nor this soon. But when you find a product you instantly like you can’t stop raving about it.
